FAQs

Where do you get your products from?

We hunt high and low to find Quality Knitwear. It is our passion and what we love to do. Our buying trips have taken us from Birmingham to London and even to Iceland! Wherever we go we are always looking for fantastic vintage jumpers, cardigans and sweaters!

Are the products dry cleaned?

Yes. We take pride in our knitwear and want all of our wooly wonders to have long and happy lives. We ensure that each jumper is dry cleaned by our expert dry cleaner, Kirk. Dry cleaning completely kills any traces of moth so there is no danger of your knitwear being eaten by furry winged fiends.

How should I wash my Quality Knitwear?

As a general rule, most of our knitwear is chunky and intended to be worn over something e.g. a t-shirt, long sleeve top, so doesn't need to washed that often. Aran cardigans for example can go a good two/three months without needing to be washed and maintain their shape really well. Of course this depends on how much you wear it!

We recommend washing your Quality Knitwear in a bath, bucket or sink in lukewarm water. You can use a soft detergent, we especially like Woolite because it makes knitwear soft and smells amazing. Be careful not to use too much detergent - it is a pain to wash out! Use about half a lidful. Ideally, dry your Quality Knitwear on a drying rack and lay it flat so it keeps its shape well. Don't peg it to a washing line as it may stretch as it dries.

How much is postage and packing?

We charge £8 postage and packing within the UK and £15 for international shipping. This covers the costs that Royal Mail charges us and also the time we take to put your bundle of Quality Knitwear together!

I'm not completely happy with my Quality Knitwear. How should I return it?

We want you to love your Quality Knitwear! So, if for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return the item or items to us in their original condition within 7 days of receipt.

All returns should be posted to:

Quality Knitwear

LONDON

The cost of returning the item to us is your responsibility and the item is your responsibility until it reaches us. We will not refund postage costs for returns.

Quality Knitwear will not be responsible for any returned items that we do not receive so we recommend you send it to us using a delivery service that insures you for the value of the goods, such as Royal Mail’s Recorded Delivery. You will then be able to apply for compensation if the item is lost.

Any returned items will be refunded as soon as possible upon receipt. You will be notified by e-mail as soon as this has been done.

Do you have a physical shop?

We don't have a physical shop (yet) but we do events throughout the year. We are at Portobello market every Saturday on next to the second exit to Portobello Green (at the Ladbroke Grove end of the market) so come and say hi!

We also do vintage fairs throughout the year as well as bigger consumer shows like Birmingham Clothes Show.

If you want to know where we will be next, email us at info@qualityknitwear.co.uk and we will let you now of any upcoming events. We always love hearing from people!

How do I know what size the product is?

Our size guides are an indication and a recommendation as many of our pieces are originally handknit and therefore hard to size in a precise way. We have tried our hardest to be as accurate as possible with the sizing of our knitwear.
